Walk in the Woods opened Friday at the Y Arts Center.
The children, ages 8 to 15, did a wonderful job this past weekend playing the classic characters with a twist. “Here are the tales of Goldilocks, the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, the Three Pigs, and Hansel and Gretel, all blended into one delightful play while staying true to the original stories. By the time you bring in citizens of Mother Goose’s village, including Jack Horner, the Butcher, the Baker, and the Candlestick Maker, there’s fresh humor and fun for every generation!”
The recently opened Y Arts Center in Portage has provided for the last few months acting classes for children and teens and has put together two plays. The Velveteen Rabbit last December and A Walk in the Woods this past weekend.

They will be offering summer camps with plays and musicals. They also offer art and dance classes for kids.
