Meet Sabrina.

Sabrina is a 10 year old girl with hopes and dreams like any other girl. She is a ballerina, she spends her afternoons among pink tutus and slippers, with her hair tied up in a perfect bun. Well, that was before she donated her beautiful long hair to Locks of Love. Inspired by a family friend suffering from Leukemia, Sabrina decided to donate her hair to children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment of any other diagnosis. For me is very inspiring to see a girl that would give up something precious to her to help others. Sure, her hair will grow back, but for a 10 year old a year might seem an eternity, however for other children her age a year might be a precious time they are not certain they’ll have.

I hope this post will inspire other kids to do the same (or adults). There are many kids that are waiting to look and feel good with a new hair piece. This gives them a sense of normalcy and self confidence that are very important in their recovery. For more information go to Locks of Love.

Now Sabrina will have a harder time putting her hair on a bun for her ballet recitals, but her heart is full.
