I have photographed this family many times, since before this active toddler was born. I love to see how he grows up everyday and is now talking – in Spanish and English- and even knows who I am; although that doesn’t guarantee he’s going to stop for the camera! Now I can’t wait to photograph
By Matea Michelangeli Photography – Kalamazoo Family Photographer The boy was so cool, he was eager to be in front of the camera right away, not very common for a seven year old! ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
I’m weather confused. It’s supposed to be almost spring, I’ve been posting fall sessions, it looks like winter but I really want it to be summer already… Couple of days ago we got 8 inches of snow, another snow day for the kids and the hope of spring weather seems farther away…but of douse, all
by Matea Michelangeli – Kalamazoo Family Photographer It is a great joy to photograph this family, they are simply awesome. That’s why they are my friends 😉  We chose this location, the Al Sabo preserve, in Texas township, because it is a place we love to go hiking, snowshoeing, cross county skiing and mountain biking

I shot this family two years ago, before Sophia was born. I love when families come back, to see how the kiddos grow and get used to me

After the super busy fall and holiday season I really thought I’ll have time to  post during January that is usually slow. Fortunately it wasn’t as slow as I thought it would be. So now, when it’s almost spring I’m trying to
These girls really love posing! But also love playing and getting their feet wet. It was getting cold and at the end of the shoot they decided to take off their shoes and walk to “the island”. I’m so glad they did! One of my goals at a shoot, besides getting great photos for you,
Last week we had a big storm passing through. Two days without power, lost a big and beautiful pine tree in the front yard and no school for the kids. Fortunately that was all for us, there families still without power and in neighboring states some people lost their homes and some their lives. The
I love when I get to photograph families again and again. Specially when you can see how much they grow when you compare photos from a couple of years back! Related Images:
When I posted about mini sessions last week I wasn’t expecting to fill up in just a few hours, so I opened another afternoon for mini session on October 11th, so just around  the corner, but I think (and hope) that the colors will be peak by then. We’ll have slots starting at 4:30pm on
It’s that time of year….mini sessions!  Fall is the most popular season for portraits and mini session offer an economical and quick session for families on the go.  For those of you who like a quick and easy session, this is for you! Of course, full sessions are still available.- I’m still deciding
By Matea Michelangeli – Kalamazoo Family Photographer I love shooting while the kids run around and have fun. Even when they don’t stop for a second; I got my daily workout running after them and ended up taking the las photos on the floor, not only because they were rolling on the floor but because
This past month and half has been supper busy! I want to shoot a huge thank you to all my clients that made me work so hard this past weeks! Â Of course this means that I haven’t had time to blog any of my sessions. To top it off, today the first edition of the
Last year, I was with my mom at the hospital, so I couldn’t do The Susan G. Komen Race for The Cure in Kalamazoo. This weekend we celebrated one year of the surgery and going strong, so what a better way to celebrate that doing this race! After I signed up for the race I
