I love shooting events. Is that energy and enthusiasm that feels the room, the adrenaline and euphoria. This past weekend I shot a Rock Climbing Competition so, added to my excitement abut shooting events was that I used to rock climb, back in the day, long time ago;  to shoot a sport that I enjoy was a real bonus. To top it all off my daughter was participating in the event. What else could I ask for? But I was torn between watching my daughter compete and photograph all the athletes, but at the end I had a lot fun and was able to do both.

The light was dim and I didn’t use flash to keep climbers concentrated in their routes, so I pumped up the ISO and hold steady. There were kids, lots of teenagers and a bunch of adults, all sweaty and with smelly feet, specially at the end when they all decided to take their climbing shoes off at the same time to watch the finals. Maybe it is just a strategy to distract the best climbers in the room!
